Chichester District is a highly attractive place to work and we are seeking 2 Senior Planners to join our team. Home to a number of historic towns and villages, including the cathedral city of Chichester, surrounded by beautiful countryside stretching from the south coast to the Surrey border, and within easy reach of the cities of Brighton to the east and Southampton to the West, the opportunities to deal with a wide range of planning issues within this varied environment should not be missed.
The District not only has a thriving economy and pressures for residential and commercial growth, but it also covers part of the South Downs National Park, the natural beauty of the Chichester Harbour AONB and a rich and varied heritage. We seek to secure the highest quality design to protect these important assets whilst meeting the growing needs of our communities.
We are looking for 2 experienced, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to work in a fast paced environment dealing with a range of either major or significant minor planning applications, pre-application enquiries, and to mentor junior members of the team. The posts would be suitable for a qualified and experienced planning individual with excellent communication and presentation skills. You should have a minimum of three years post qualification experience and ideally some previous experience of dealing with complex planning applications and mentoring. Providing excellent customer care is important to us, and we are seeking planners who are positive, team players, organised and committed to meeting the needs of our customers.
