Beach Baker have been exclusively instructed by a well-known consultancy to recruit for a Planning Director for their Birmingham office, who will be responsible for leading the planning team.

This appointment will play a key role in the growth of the office; therefore the successful candidate will be well-established in the area, with strong contacts and an existing client base. You will be expected to develop both new and existing client relationships and have a high level of entrepreneurial drive, combining both individual initiative and effective collaboration with colleagues. You should be confident in delivering large scale schemes, have strong project management skills and be well versed in dealing with community stakeholders, industry professionals, clients and colleagues. Team management experience is advantageous and strong commercial acumen and financial management is essential.
In addition to the above, you should be MRTPI, ideally coming from a consultancy environment and show ambition, drive and passion for your sector. In terms of project experience, we are open to different areas. The office is currently dealing with a broad range of residential, mixed-use, strategic and commercial schemes, therefore this appointment should complement existing the existing client base whether that is adding something new or building upon current relationships. Key areas of interest are residential/mixed-use, strategic, environmental/infrastructure, retail, education and commercial.
