Our client is a local authority based in North Yorkshire and they require a degree qualified Senior Town Planner to join them for a Maternity cover post. You will join a small team which comprises of two senior planners and a principal planner.
Your work will focus on dealing with a caseload of about 30 applications which will be mostly extensions, changes of use, advertisements etc. You will be expected to provide expert technical advice at every stage, on a daily basis you will be completing reports, carrying out site visits where required and representing the Council at committee.
Recent work experience in the field is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.
This is a maternity cover post which will run until July 2022 and the rate offered is around £30-£35/hr depending on your experience and this role is inside IR35. This will be a home working role but you will be required to carry out site visits.
