Local Land Charges Officer

Our client is a Local Authority in East London. They are looking to appoint a Local Land Charges Officer for 3-6 months.

You will assist in the work of the Land Charges department in collating and providing information in connection with the conveyancing process. You will liaise with customers such as agents, solicitors, professional bodies and members of the public.

Key duties will include ensuring that all incoming searches refer to properties within the borough. You will liaise with the contributing departments regarding replies received or queries about information required for the completion of searches.

A primary function will be working to compile and accurately maintain the Land Charges register and checking to ensure that all completed searches are correct for issuing and ensuring that all incoming searches have the prescribed fee.

The role will pay around £25-£29/hr and would be well suited to a planning / building surveying/control graduate who is looking to gain further career experience.

We would also consider applications from those with strong admin skills to include previous experience of financial admin, particularly within a planning context so any work such as CIL / S106 related admin would be particularly relevant.
