Tewkesbury is a great place to be a planner. With an exceptional built and natural environment, the Borough contains a rich diversity of areas including large parts of the Cotswold A.O.N.B and Severn Vale, 14 conservation areas, some 1800 listed assets and the historic market towns of Tewkesbury and Winchcombe.

Within this stunning environment, Tewkesbury is responsible for delivering much of the planned growth within the area arising from the adopted Joint Core Strategy for Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury. In 2019 Tewkesbury was the fastest growing district outside of London. As you can see, this is an exciting time to be a planner as the Borough also has a garden town, garden village and a heritage action zone. Plus of course, we have the additional challenges presented by covid19 and the country’s response to the pandemic.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced planning professional with a flair for positive decision making. You will be dealing with a varied caseload including major development schemes and therefore will have experience of dealing with complex/major applications.

Come and make a real difference, helping us to deliver high quality new developments for our new and existing communities in Tewkesbury Borough where a good quality of life is open to all.

For an informal discussion about the Senior Planning Officer role, please contact Paul Skelton, Development Manager, on 07785 242725, or Catherine Ashby, Development Management Team Leader (North), on 01684 272103.

Closing Date: Monday, 20 September 2021

Proposed Interview Dates: w/c Monday, 27 September 2021
