Job Details

Our client is a successful strategic land promoter based in Manchester, keen to grow their team. With their current team being lean and efficient – they want someone else to join to work across finding and promoting strategic land sites across the North West predominantly.

Unaffected by Covid for the most part – with their output and success actually increasing, they have very secure investment and funding. With a culture of trust and innovation, as well as being a highly skilled team already, their next hire will be focused on planning promotion, and will be thrown into the deep end – conversing quickly with LPAs and landowners, as well as looking to find and put together option agreements with the Land Director.

Sites vary in size but will always be looking in the longer term, and at allocations within Local Plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the planning applications for sites going through the Local Plan allocation process
  • Identifying potential sites for promotion through software like LandInsight and the land registry
  • Contacting landowners and updating development partners on existing projects
  • Keeping up-to-date with planning policy changes and potential opportunities
  • Appraising new sites identified by the Land Director or other colleagues when necessary
  • Coordinating external consultants and liaising with local authorities and other stakeholders

Ideally you will:

  • At least one year within a town planning role – either within a consultancy, or client-side business (although LPA background will be considered)
  • Have a sound knowledge of land promotion or residential planning knowledge
  • Be assertive and have a confident nature, and excellent communication skills
  • Know the North West area well, but not essential
  • Have a full driving license and access to a car

You will be rewarded with a competitive package, as well as an excellent work-life balance while being a key part of this small and growing business as they move forward. They operate on a part-time in the office, part-time from home basis.

Please apply here or give me (Kate) a call on 07749 707060 to discuss. My client is looking to find the right candidate as soon as possible – so if in doubt, do get in touch. I also have other clients and roles that may be of interest.

If you do not hear anything back within one week, please assume that you have been unsuccessful on this occasion, but I will retain your details for future roles.
