Penguin Recruitment is pleased to be working with a recognised leader in the development sector on the hire of a Town Planner or Senior Planner to join the team in Ipswich.
Our client is one of the UK's leading housebuilders operating from over 30 offices and builds around 16,000 new homes each year! They have a long history of developing careers and promoting Planners to senior positions within the business so if you are ambitious with plans to grow, this is a great company to work with!
As a Planner based within the Technical Department, the role will be to take the responsibility for and manage projects from identifying new development opportunities and local plan promotion to securing planning permission for residential-led developments of varying scales and complexity.
The team of Planners undertakes the majority of the project work in-house including writing Local Plan representations and supporting planning application documents such as Design and Access Statements; project managing consultants and design team; negotiating with the Local Authority and statutory consultees; organising consultation events and presenting to Parish Councils and planning committee.
In order to apply you should hold a relevant degree (Town Planning or similar), MRTPI (or ability to apply) and 3-5 years experience. Development Management is ideal so experience with a Local Authority in this capacity or experience within a consultancy or developer would be suitable. In addition, we are looking to speak with people who are self-motivated, committed, holds a team player ethic and strong communication/negotiation skills.
