Job Details

The Planning Enforcement team is a busy team receiving around 600 enforcement cases a year. This is a key role in providing a professional planning input on enforcement cases, in terms of advising the Enforcement Officers on the expediency of enforcement action, engaging with Councillors and progressing cases to formal action.  This post, supported by the Planning Manager will also be responsible for drafting decision reports, formal notices and defending the Council’s position at appeal stage.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate negotiation skills, attention to detail and be able to deal with confrontational situations. If you are an experienced Planner with enforcement experience and looking to broaden your experience then this post may be for you.

You should have a degree or postgraduate qualification in planning or related discipline and be a full member of the RTPI (or be able to show evidence that you are actively working towards obtaining full RTPI membership). Experience of advising on enforcement cases or dealing with retrospective applications is essential.
