Our client, is looking for a Planning Strategy Manager to join the team on a 12 months contract basis.
Main purpose is to be responsible for all aspects of the Strategic Planning Team, in accordance with Council objectives for the service as a whole. To be accountable for the efficient and effective delivery of services to customers, for the quality management and cost effectiveness of those services, and for securing continuous service improvement within the framework of corporate strategies.
Make positive and proactive contributions to the development of corporate policies and strategies from within the Planning service and across the Council.
To manage all relevant committee processes, from a team perspective, in conjunction with Democratic Services. To manage the preparation of all relevant Committee and Panel (including the Planning Panel and CIL Panel)Agendas ensuring the provision of high quality reports to agreed timescales and to represent the Council at pre Committee briefings and Committee meetings.
Managing the effective negotiation, securing and receipt of planning contributions through section 106 agreements or similar and monitoring their use.
Manage the Community Infrastructure Levy in conjunction with the Planning Processing and Improvement Manager to ensure monies are collected
To work with partners to identify and deliver infrastructure improvements across the borough, through the correct allocation of CIL monies and through other funding opportunities which arise.
To be responsible for managing responses to complaints.
Direct, lead and motivate an operational team delivering a proactive professional service that is responsive to customers' needs and operational service delivery.
Provide expert professional advice and solutions in an intelligible and timely fashion to elected members, regulators and other stakeholders.
