Job Details

A role filled with opportunity, this housebuilder/promoter wants someone to come onboard to take over while someone is on maternity, and then working together with this individual when they return. You will be working alongside the Heads of Land and Planning, and a Senior Planning Manager - who focus on more immediate sites - while you will be focused predominantly on strategic sites, promoting these through the planning process across the East Anglia region. Successful sites are parcelled up to other housebuilders, while some is kept to deliver homes within this division.

This role will suit:

  • Someone in a similar role with a competitor either in the region or with a consultancy.
  • Ideally this needs to be someone who can work independently but still interested in growing with a business to continue with their trade.
  • They are happy for someone to work from home twice a week in the long-run, but ideally, they are keen to get a team atmosphere back with others in the wider and team too.
  • Someone with at least four years in a planning role, ideally with some strategic land experience – either in consultancy or with a housebuilder/promoter
  • A strong communicator with good written work
  • Sound planning understanding
  • Someone with some knowledge of the patch
  • Access to a car and a full driving license

Your role will include (now and later!):

  • Promoting strategic sites through the Local Plan process
  • Keeping up to date with planning policy and Local Plan changes and involvement
  • Managing a pipeline of sites through outline planning permissions as well as some more detailed consents as and when the workload requires
  • Collaborating with consultants and planning colleagues, to work together on strategic land projects
  • Sourcing sites through software systems and databases as well as using the land registry
  • Contacting land-owners and reviewing strategic land opportunities, in the longer run

You will be rewarded with a competitive package, as well as an excellent work life balance while being a key part of the growth of the business moving forward. Once the team is at full capacity in mid-2022, you will also trained up acquisition and option agreements with the team, to find further sites to build the land bank and promote.
