Job Details

We are thrilled to have been asked by a London planning consultancy team to find their next one or two junior hires for the team. Ideally you will have at least one internship or some experience within a consultancy or local authority – and keen to get started now or in September – with an ambitious business and team

Their projects vary from major Central London redevelopments and regeneration schemes, to policy and strategic work, as well as town centre repurposing across the wider UK – and everything in between! Typically their work is urban focused, and the Planners sit alongside a few Urban Designers in the team too.

Your role will include:

  • Writing reports and assisting in compiling and writing documents to go into planning applications
  • Researching and assisting senior colleagues with a variety of scales of projects
  • Managing small planning applications to start, with these increasing in complexity and size over time
  • Forging and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders and LPA officers alike
  • Attending meetings for Planning Committee, Consultations and similar events with team members and alone over time

Ideally my client is looking for someone who has graduated from an RTPI accredited Masters (or similar), and has strong written and communication skills. They are keen to find someone who is driven and a team player to progress.

In reward for the hard work you will receive a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as ongoing training and being part of an excellent team and company to progress you in your career. This team learns by “doing” and not in the classroom – so you will get extensive exposure to projects and be in front of clients a lot quicker than on the PLC graduate programmes.

Get in touch with me (Kate) today to discuss this further. If in doubt though, do still say hello. I also have other clients and roles that may be of interest!

Launched in March 2018, by two industry-leading experts, CCO Group has since gone from strength to strength, tripling in size. We are growing and evolving to changing times, being flexible and proactive to maintain an enriched and efficient team that earns the respect of its clients and candidates. This is critical to us.

CCO Group operates across Property & Real Estate, Construction, Civil Engineering, FM and Sub-Contract specialist areas. What we offer is simple. Specific and niche expertise that is focussed solely around the needs of our clients. As we are not generalist recruiters, we are targeted and highly knowledgeable – with an excellent understanding of the construction and property markets. Across the property market we recruit into: land, development, planning, investment, project delivery, technical, commercial, surveying, property management, sales and marketing.

Our Land, Development and Planning division is one of the strongest within the business, and we have years of expertise in the sectors – with notable track record with clients both the consultancy and client-side, private and public sector markets.

While Planning itself has many nuances within the sector from development management to strategic and policy planning, we are adept at dealing with your needs from a candidate or client perspective. We hire into major consultancy environments, PLC developers, HA’s, SMEs and start-ups alike, and recruit roles such as;

  • Town Planners
  • Development Managers (within developers)
  • Land Buyers/Land and Planning Managers
  • Economic Development specialists
  • Heritage professionals
  • Environmental and EIA consultants
  • Urban Designers and Masterplanners

We actively headhunt candidates and take a pro-active approach in placing them in their desired roles. We have close relationships with our clients, who are selected for their variety of work and cultures across the market. Typically we work on retained and contingency roles and as a business we offer a number of different ways to satisfy our clients growth and retention strategies.
