About the service

This is a fantastic time to join the London Borough of Hillingdon, an exciting place to develop your career in town planning that offers a wide range of varied and engaging planning opportunities as part of an ambitious agenda for the future of the Planning Service.

Located in outer west London, the borough of Hillingdon has over 300,000 residents and covers an area of 44 square miles making it the second largest London borough. Hillingdon has excellent transport links via the M4 and A40, the Metropolitan, Piccadilly, Central Lines and Heathrow Airport, promoting Hillingdon as a key gateway for the UK and central London.

About the role

Hillingdon Council are recruiting Planning Officers to work across 2 new Area Planning Teams that are being created as part of an exciting transformation of our Planning Service.

This is an excellent opportunity for ambitious and capable individuals to progress in their planning career. The role will provide opportunities to expand your existing knowledge under the successful guidance and support of a team of experienced planners. The response to COVID-19 is shaping that way many organisations work. The recent roll-out of Microsoft 365 within the organisation has transformed the ability of some of our staff to work remotely while continuing to maintain the same high level of service delivery to our residents.  We also recognise the value of some working time spent in the office.

Hillingdon has recently achieved ‘Timewise’ accreditation which endorses our ongoing commitment to flexible working. A refreshed flexible working policy along with wraparound wellbeing policies will be launched during the summer.
