Senior Planning Officer – 3 Months

My client (local authority) based in the West Midlands are looking for a planning officer to join the development management team on a 3-month contract.

Job details:

• 3 Month Contract
• Full Time
• Predominantly working from home / Site Visits Required once per week/fortnight
• Location fully disclosed at application stage

The rates for this role will be negotiated depending on the individual experience and will be discussed at interview stage.

Day to day responsibilities:

Effectively processing a wide range of applications for residential householder / Minor applications.

Able to handle the entire process of planning from processing to making recommendations.

Provide town planning advice and guidance to councillors, applicants and members of the public and local community organisations, particularly with planning enforcement officers to assist in monitoring developments and investigating complaints.

Attend site visits regularly.

Dealing with your own caseload.

Requirements:

3-5 years’ experience working with local authorities.

A deep understanding of how to handle the whole planning journey.

Able to work to tight deadlines and execute tasks in a timely fashion to meet the needs of the project.
