We are looking for a forward thinking, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our proactive, award-winning and customer-focused Development Management team.

The Principal Planning Officer post holder will supervise the planning enforcement service and line-manage the Planning Enforcement Officer in addition to carrying a caseload of major and complex planning applications.

Centrally located between Nottingham and Derby, Erewash is a diverse borough encompassing the towns of Long Eaton and Ilkeston surrounded by the rural Green Belt.  The Council is in the process of developing and delivering a truly ambitious plan for growth which is vitally important for economic development and will benefit all our residents, businesses and communities.

About You

You will need experience of dealing with a wide, diverse and interesting range of applications and associated work, including planning enforcement and leading projects, and have a problem-solving and proactive approach to delivering quality outcomes including complex and major applications.

As a committed team player you need good written and verbal communication skills.  Dealing with customers is an important part of the role and you must be dedicated to providing high quality customer service.

We are looking for an experienced planning professional with managerial experience or someone who is looking to take the first step into management.
