Job Details

Hart District, in rural north east Hampshire, is consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the UK. The Council works hard to make a positive contribution to the lives of its residents by delivering continuous improvement and innovation in service delivery.

We are looking for a Planner (MRTPI, or within 2 years of applying) to join our busy and friendly Planning Policy and Economic Development Team.  You will join us at a great time.  With a new local plan adopted last year, we are currently delivering a wide range of other projects, and we are gearing up for a local plan review.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills; be self-motivated and able to prioritise work under pressure.  As part of a small team you will have the opportunity to engage with an interesting and varied workload.

You will make a positive contribution to the Council’s core values by being helpful, approachable, responsive and taking ownership of challenges and problems, whilst making customers feel welcome and cared for.

We offer a competitive salary, a generous leave entitlement, flexible and remote working, Local Government Pension Scheme, opportunities to undertake further professional development and free car parking.

For an informal discussion about the post, please contact Daniel Hawes, Planning Policy and Economic Development Manager daniel.hawes@hart.gov.uk

Apply for this role at: https://www.hart.gov.uk/jobs.  Please include a supporting statement (2 to 3 sides of A4) along with your CV outlining why you are interested in the role and how your knowledge and experience makes you a great candidate.

Company

Planning is firmly at the heart of the Council’s vision to 2040 and we’re consistently ranked as one of the best places to live in the UK.

We're a small local authority with big ambition. We want to do things bigger, bolder, and better than we have before. Our Council is small enough for you to be able to see the direct impact and influence you can have through your day-to-day work and know the names of your colleagues. You will also notice that you get to see the faces of our Senior Leadership and Chief Executives on a regular basis.

At Hart, we work together to shape the environment for the people in our district and we listen to suggestions and contributions from staff at all levels to improve the way we do this.

We’re the place to grow your planning career, come and see for yourself how we empower and develop our staff. The work we have at Hart is diverse and challenging, you can develop your skills and work as part of a friendly and committed team.
