Wokingham is an ambitious Unitary Authority in Berkshire, regularly referred to as one of the best places to live in the UK. It is an attractive group of 17 towns and villages based around the lovely historic market town of Wokingham. 

Delivery of strategic growth at Wokingham is a successful and well established service area of 84 staff managed by an Assistant Director with 5 Service Managers. Our 2010 local plan is delivering around £500m in developer infrastructure contributions and affordable housing of the same order. We have an opportunity for you to become one of our Service Managers leading the Infrastructure Delivery & Projects Team.

You will be familiar with planning, infrastructure and development funding and have strong project management and networking capability, ideally having an expert level of competence in Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) management. 

Your team of 5 officers leads on proactively collecting developer contributions (CIL/S106), ensuring the funds are committed to infrastructure delivery and spent. The post holder will act as our CIL expert for the Council, working with officers and members to realise the benefits of Wokingham having one of the highest CIL rates in the country. The role also manages the housing monitoring function working closely with finance to forecast income and expenditure as well as recording and evidencing our housing land supply. Managing our specialist Solicitor you support the planning and delivery functions of the authority to realise its ambitions.  

As part of the projects function the post holder will commission and lead on special projects including, bidding for funding, masterplanning to support the evidence base for our local plan and its infrastructure delivery viability and credentials.
