I am currently working with a Local Authority in the beautiful area of Somerset who are looking to bring an experienced Policy Planner onto the forward planning team for an initial 7 month contract, likely to be extended should everything go well.
The role will include assisting the 5 year policy review and ongoing implementation of the Local Plan, researching and advising on policy, reviewing and updating the Local Plan evidence base, undertaking surveys and consultations, monitoring, collating, and analysing data and working with local communities. Experience with Strategic Housing/Employment Land Availability Assessment/Affordable Housing Need Assessment and Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) is needed.
The position is remote due to the offices being closed at present, however there would be a need to travel to the area occasionally. There is potential for this position to go outside IR35 and the rate will depend on previous experience. The manager is collecting CV's with a view to start shortly!
