Planning and Development Team Manager
Band I, £44,863 - £48,808 per annum – pay award pending
We are looking for someone with considerable planning knowledge and experience to lead and move forward the work of our busy and successful Planning and Development Team, building on existing strengths and refreshing the way we operate in development management. You will need to continue and support the team’s journey of improvement enabling team working to create and maintain collaborative relationships between officers and members. You will manage the full range of development management duties, including the processing of a wide range of planning applications and appeals. In doing so you will help the council to provide a better service to our residents and businesses and support our ambitious plans for growth and development. As the Team Manager, you will be at the forefront of these changes, creating and delivering an open and customer-focused service whilst ensuring the council continues to support the need for the district and community to grow, balanced against the need to conserve North West Leicestershire’s historic and green infrastructure.
To be successful you must hold a town and country planning or equivalent degree qualification, have considerable planning knowledge and experience of development management working in a local authority, along with a can do and creative approach and supportive management style.
