Planning Policy Team Leader

As one of two Team Leaders, you will be required to progress and implement policies through the production of Local Plans, Supplementary Planning Documents and the management of associated projects, including CIL, infrastructure, housing, and economic development. You will also be responsible for the day to day management of officers in one of the Planning Policy teams.

The roles require significant planning policy experience and it is essential to be able to research, devise methodologies, collate and analyse data to progress policy and development solutions. You will also have experience of managing staff and projects.

You will need full MRTPI or equivalent professional qualification or a relevant degree and Licentiate Member of the RTPI actively working towards full membership, in addition to substantial experience of preparation of the evidence base for Local Plans. Good IT and analytical skills together with a full working knowledge of the relevant legislation as applied to the development of Local Plans is also essential for these roles.

You will develop sound working relationships at a senior level with key players, including Town and Parish Councils. You will also work closely with colleagues in the Council in Development Management, and on corporate projects and activities.
