We are looking for an experienced and dynamic individual to be responsible to lead one of two area planning teams within the Development Management Service and the Support Team responsible for the validation process. You will also be responsible for managing a high volume and diverse caseload including major housing, employment, retail and regeneration proposals whilst advising and managing the caseload of the area officers.
You will have excellent negotiation skills and be able to demonstrate exceptional organisational abilities to ensure that targets are met, and quality development achieved.
You will also seek to ensure that our performance continues to rise and contribute to the wider business transformation and service improvement agenda. You will be able to demonstrate excellent levels of customer care, initiative and self-motivation. In return we can offer you an excellent career opportunity.
You must have substantial experience within development management or planning environment as a senior officer and be committed to performance management. You must be a Chartered Town Planner (or eligible for membership of the RTPI). You should be aware of the factors influencing development management and a knowledge and understanding of performance management and best practice for quality public services.
