If you are looking for real quality of life then take a close look at Wealden in East Sussex which covers the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the North down to the south coast, yet is within easy reach of London. We now have a vacancy in our Planning Policy team for a Planning Monitoring Officer who will help the Council understand how we are performing in the delivery of our planning policies and other associated projects, including CIL, neighbourhood plans, infrastructure and economic development.

As Planning Monitoring Officer you will be responsible for analysing data and producing reports, including the Council’s Authority Monitoring Report (AMR). You will play an important role in the forthcoming stages of our Local Plan process, by undertaking research to inform planning policy formulation and monitoring the effectiveness of existing planning policies. This will include liaising with colleagues, developers and planning agents to help us understand current and future housing delivery as well as the delivery of other types of development such as retail and employment floor space, for example.

This post requires a relevant degree/diploma together with relevant planning experience in either a Local Authority or Consultancy setting. You will enjoy data analysis and research and be able to consider methodologies and collate and analyse data to progress policy and development solutions.

In return we offer an excellent package, including competitive salary, career average salary pension scheme, an employee benefit scheme offering a range of discounts and salary sacrifice schemes, flexitime, some homeworking and discounted leisure centre membership.

We are committed to maintaining a diverse workforce and an inclusive work environment. We value the differences that people bring from all backgrounds and communities and all applications will be treated on merit.
