SENIOR PLANNING OFFICER ; 3 – 6 MONTHS

My client in the North are looking for an experienced development management planner who specialises in City Centre developments to join the local authority at this exciting time! This is a great opportunity to establish yourself with this role.

Job details:

  • 6 Month Contract
  • Full Time 37 Hours PW
  • Site Visits Required
  • Location fully disclosed at application stage

The rates for this role will be negotiated depending on the individual experience and will be discussed at interview stage.

Day to day responsibilities:

Confidently processing major applications – with a focus on city centre developments.

Able to handle the entire process of planning from processing, pre-applications, to making recommendations and submissions.

Looking to process applications and approvals – major applications.

Provide town planning advice and guidance to councillors, applicants and members of the public and local community organisations, particularly with planning enforcement officers to assist in monitoring developments and investigating complaints.

Attend site visits regularly.

Dealing with your own caseload.

Requirements:

Over 5 years working with local authority in planning

A deep understanding of how to handle the whole planning journey.

Able to work to tight deadlines and execute tasks in a timely fashion to meet the needs of the project.

Experience in managing and processing major applications for city centre developments.
