Job Details

I’m currently working with a Local Authority in Sussex who are looking for a Senior Enforcement Officer to join their team on a 4-6 month contract. My client can offer mostly remote working, and the role would be on a part-time basis (25 hours per week).

The candidate should have previous Local Authority Planning Enforcement experience and should be adaptable.

Duties will include:

  • Take on a case load investigating allegations of breaches of planning control and checking compliance on new development, managing cases from initial complaint through to formal action;
  • Deal with complex and controversial cases such as listed buildings, moving them on to formal enforcement action by drafting Enforcement Notices;
  • Effectively communicating and dealing with multiple parties at one time, working with Environmental protection, Building Control and others as appropriate.

Candidates who are PACE trained are preferred. The candidate should have excellent communication skills and be able to mentor junior members of staff.

If you think your skills or experience match this role, or you would like information on our other roles we have available, please feel free to give me a call on 020 7766 9075 and ask for James
