Planning Officer/Senior Planner – Planning Policy

Senior Planner: £34,680 – £39,000 per annum
Planning Officer: £29,657 – £33,976 per annum
37 hours a week

We are looking to recruit to two exciting Planning Policy posts within the Planning Policy and Conservation Team. You will be joining a small but busy team supporting the preparation of a new Local Plan and associated planning policy tasks. Now is a good time to join the authority with the draft Local Plan due to be published for consultation in the Autumn and plans for further regeneration of Camberley town centre.

These roles provide the opportunity to gain further experience across all aspects of Planning Policy in a Borough that contains both urban and rural areas including areas of Metropolitan Green Belt. We are therefore looking for you to be enthusiastic and proactive with a level of planning experience commensurate with the role.

As a Senior Planning Officer, we will be looking for you to be able to take the initiative and manage projects, playing a key role in the delivery of the Local Plan. As a Planning Officer, we will look to develop your existing skills through supporting other team members in a range of projects as well as having responsibility for your own work areas.

Benefits of working for Surrey Heath include a minimum of 24 days annual leave, a Local Government Pension Scheme, generous flexible working arrangements (including up to two days flex a month), paid professional fees, agile working possibilities and free parking.

For an informal discussion please contact Jane Reeves, Planning Policy and Conservation Manager on 01276 707213.

Closing date: 10am, Monday 19 April 2021.

Surrey Heath Borough Council is committed to equality of opportunity in employment and service delivery and welcomes applications from all sectors of the community.
