Associate Town Planner - Newcastle
HA 9288
Salary: Negotiable depending on skills an experience
Our client, a UK leading planning and design consultancy are urgently looking to expand their Newcastle based team with the appointment of an Associate Planner. The successful Associate Town Planner will be working closely with other internal teams across the UK, delivering a variety of planning services for clients within the residential, commercial, infrastructure and retails sectors.
Qualifications and experience:
- A relevant RTPI accredited BSc / MSc (or equivalent)
- Have achieved Chartered RTPI status (or be working towards this)
- Have demonstrable planning experience, ideally within a consultancy environment
- Have a strong local knowledge of the planning sector in the North East
- Have previous project management and business development experience
- Hold a full UK drivers licence
Responsibilities:
- Promoting large to medium scale residential, mixed-use and other developments through the Local Development Framework and also coordinating applications
- Mentoring junior members of the team
- Being a key point of contact for clients
- Conducting research and site appraisals on projects
- Preparing, submitting and negotiating planning applications
- Preparing planning and socio-economic statements
- Lodging appeals
