Principal Strategic Applications Planner - Major Sites (remote working)

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Strategic Applications Planner - Major Sites has arisen at a leading London borough council progressing with some of the capitals largest regeneration projects.

This role will provide an unprecedented opportunity where you will be the Lead Officer working on the delivery of the borough's second largest regeneration site through planning.

This Major Site  is a high profile hybrid  residential led mixed use planning application that will facilitate the delivery of over 1000 new homes, new shopping centre, public realm, leisure facilities and community infrastructure.

 In addition, you will play a pivotal role addressing complex planning issues arising from the delivery o Tall Buildings, massing and proposed demolition of existing structures.

In addition you will liaise and negotiate with prestigious developer and institutions such as the GLA as well as leading architects and planning consultants etc.

Key responsibilities include;

• Manage and process of outline and detailed planning applications encompassing of large scale major and strategic developments consisting of residential led mixed use, tall buildings, community infrastructure, and commercial uses etc.
• Facilitate close liaison with major developers, architects and external consultants through paid pre-application meetings and PPA's.
• Negotiate complex S106 agreements in conjunction with discharging conditions and finalising reserved matters.
• Undertake Stage 1 and Stage 2 negotiations with the GLA
• Draft detailed delegated reports and present at committee
• Conduct member briefings, engage with regeneration teams and consult with local community groups

You will have acquired practical experience as an accomplished Principal Planner in development management with a wealth of experience managing large scale major and strategic applications through the planning system.

In addition you will have drive and a natural drive with enthusiasm with a pro-development outlook.

Moreover applicants must have a degree in Town & Country Planning and excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as an interest in dealing with complex planning issues.
