Permanent, Full-Time or Part-Time
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Town Planning Development Management Officer to join a vibrant and friendly planning team in Cambridgeshire. My client is an innovative and forward-thinking local authority, situated within the heart of the Cambridge-Peterborough Growth Area.
The role will involve dealing with an interesting and varied caseload of planning applications, including householders, prior notifications, advertisement consents, listed building consents, as well as small-scale infill developments and other minor development proposals.
The post will be ideal for a motivated and keen planning graduate looking for that first job, or somebody who has worked as a development management case officer in a local authority planning department or similar regulatory environment, or at an equivalent level in a private practice. You will be exposed to a healthy culture of learning, sharing knowledge, and you will be surrounded by friendly and approachable specialists, admin staff, planners and planning team leaders.
As a Development Management Officer, you will be based in one of two area planning teams. The team structure consists of a Team Leader, three Senior Development Management Officers, two other Development Management Officers, as well as a Technical Support Officer. There will be regular cross working with other internal council teams (such as Planning Admin/Heritage/Strategic/Policy teams and the Enforcement teams), as well as external bodies, for example, the Environment Agency.
Why Apply?
For this position, my client is offering an enticing and competitive salary, as well as an impressive bonus package which includes:
- Strong starting salary.
- Generous annual leave entitlements, increasing with service.
- Opportunity for rapid career growth through exposure to a broad range of planning work.
- Highly flexible working hours - including working from home.
- Training and personal development opportunities.
- Subsidies offsite parking.
- Significantly reduced membership to four leisure and fitness facilities!
