An outstanding opportunity for a Planning Officer has become available at one of the largest LPA's in the Home Counties that are at the forefront of housing development.
In this geographically diverse council, you will work within a vibrant and supportive development management team processing a mixed caseload of minor, complex medium and small scale major planning applications predominantly in greenbelt and rural areas.
This exciting caseloads will consist of a variety of different schemes encompassing residential, commercial, change of use, mixed use, listed buildings consents and prior approvals etc.
Due to this council having a major focus on housing development you may also get the opportunity to work on larger more complex major applications once settled in.
- Managing a caseload of minor to medium planning applications within statutory time frames
- Provision of paid pre-application advice to developers, architects and external consultants
- Conduct duty planning
- Attending site visits
- Prepare detailed committee reports
- Negotiate finalize and discharge conditions
- Coordinate appeals
Successful candidates will have a degree in Town & Country Planning or an affiliated subject with practical experience as a Development Control Officer in the UK.
Homeworking: 5 days per week with site visits being undertaken on one day over a 2-3 week period.
Pay Rate: £30.00 - £34.00 per hour Limited
Contract duration: 3 months on a rolling basis
