Opportunity within the Planning and Development Department at Birmingham City Council.

Birmingham is changing….and fast! The second city is booming with a whole range of ambitious new development and regeneration initiatives. Are you interested in helping to shape our city for future generations? We are looking to appoint to a Development Management role within the Planning and Development department. You will be working for one of the country’s largest planning authorities within a can-do Directorate that combines a range of service areas.

The Senior Planning Officer provides the opportunity to work in Development Management in one of the City's Area Teams, determining a diverse portfolio of planning applications and appeal work. As part of the role you will ensure the service meets performance targets, provide high standards of customer service and ensure good quality development is delivered.

You will need to be educated to degree level in Planning or a related discipline and as a preference be Eligible for Licentiate Membership of RTPI.
