Planning Policy Lead Officer

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in London in their search for a Planning Policy Team Leader. This will be offered on an initial 6-month contract, then rolling.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Planner with recent and relevant Planning Policy experience. You should have experience working within a London Authority Town Planning department at a Senior/Management level with the ability to deliver a local plan through Reg 18, 19 and EIP.
 
Experience within all areas of Planning Policy is key, including the following:
·Carry out consultations on the local plan and other planning policy documents
·Carry out research as part of your work on the preparation of the local plan and any other policy documents
·Prepare draft sections of the local plan, supplementary planning documents and papers, and reports on them and other planning policy issues, including consultation documents for officers and members
·Assist and oversee the production of documents making up the local plan
·Provide professional advice and training on planning policy and development matters to the public, Members and other professionals
·Prepare and present evidence supporting the council's cases at examinations
·Assist in the supervision of the work of junior planning or technical officers
·Prepare statutory and non-statutory supporting documents
·Conduct member briefings
 
It would be beneficial to have a degree & professional qualification in Town & Country planning as well as full membership of the RTPI.
