Planning Policy, Conservation & Design Manager REF: POSN 109120
Grade K: £50,858.00 - £54,835.00 per annum
37 hours per week, permanent
The Job:
We are an ambitious, growth focused organisation with commitments to healthy place-shaping and climate action. We are a signatory to the Oxfordshire Housing and Growth Deal which supports £215m of investment for new homes and infrastructure across Oxfordshire. We have three urban areas all with planned growth situated within the Oxford-Cambridge Arc.
We are looking for a high quality candidate to manage our busy Planning Policy, Conservation & Design Service. Having recently adopted a Partial Review of our Local Plan, our Planning Policy Team has commenced work on a new, district-wide review. We are a partner in the production of the Oxfordshire Plan 2050 working closely with neighbouring authorities. Our Conservation & Design Team is engaged with Development Briefs, a rolling programme of Conservation Area appraisals and consultation casework. We need to continue to plan for and deliver growth in the right places so that it responds to our strategic priorities and community needs and in order that it protects our valued environment and heritage assets.
The Person:
We need an experienced Manager with the drive and commitment to help deliver our services. We need a Manager who will be proactive in delivering Council objectives, who will work well with Members, partners and all our planning teams.
The Benefits:
The Council is an equal opportunities employer and has flexible working practices.
• A generous annual leave entitlement
• Opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme
• Cycle to work scheme (after one years’ service)
• Incremental pay award (awarded annually in April after one years’ service)
Closing date: Monday 14 December 2020
