As a Planning Officer within our clients Development Management team you will be required to assess a wide range of planning applications, from minor and householder applications through to small majors. On occasion you may also be required to assist the Team Leader with signing off on junior officer's work.

Though this will be a home working position you will need to carry out your own site visits and you will be expected to undertake consultation exercises and produce detailed written report documents that clearly lay out how planning decisions have been arrived at. On a daily basis you will be dealing with planning enquiries from agents, applicants and the general public and you will be required to give accurate pre-application advice to prospective developers.

To apply for this role you will need previous experience assessing planning applications for a local authority. You will need a relevant town planning degree and a good working knowledge of UK planning legislation. Good communication skills and confidence are essential and you must be comfortable dealing with the general public. Our client has a wide range of work underway and will accept applications from those with varying levels of experience.

This will be a part time contract role offering up to 22.2 hours a week and the rate offered is £31/hr (inside IR35). This contract will initially run until the end of April 2021. Please get in touch for further details.
