Exeter is a thriving and vibrant city based within the fabulous county of Devon.  This is a great place to live and work with easy access to beautiful open green spaces within the city and of course the wonderful moors and beaches of rural Devon.

The new Assistant Service Lead (Local Plans) presents an exciting opportunity for someone with the skill and aptitude to play a crucial role in the delivery of sustainable growth within Exeter. They will lead a small team of officers in a new team focussing on a new Exeter Local Plan which is key to delivering the Council’s ambitions. You will work closely with the Liveable Exeter team to ensure strategic alignment in work and will need to be able to drive forward the plan production to a tight timescale as well as ensuring other statutory duties are met. The post reports direct to the Service Lead, City Development.

This is a great time to join Exeter City Council to deliver a new Local Plan to meet our ambitious growth agenda in our historic city.  We have an agile and flexible working policy right across the council with the aim of providing our staff with a positive work life balance and we  positively encourage working from home particularly at present time and operate a modern shared office environment within the Civic Centre in Exeter.  In 2020 we are embarking on a major staff led digitalisation programme with the aim of providing modern and accessible services to all our customers.
