Senior Sustainability Officer

Osborne Richardson have an interesting opportunity for a Senior Sustainability Officer to join a very busy local authority in North West London for a contract role. Our client is a thriving Borough who are undergoing considerable transformation and regeneration and you will take responsibility for co-ordinating the development and delivery of their borough-wide environmental sustainability strategy programme which will cross the corporate estate as well as the domestic, business and community sectors.

You will be involved with developing a borough-wide environmental sustainability strategy for our client as well as a corporate action plan for their own estate and operations. This will focus on a range of environmental issues including carbon reduction and energy efficiency, climate change adaptation, air quality, circular economy, green economy, sustainable travel and ecology. Strong communication skills are essential as you will act as a point of contact for all matters involving sustainability. On a daily basis you will be dealing with senior managers, a wide range of stakeholders and the general public, explaining complex and new approaches to sustainability.

The successful candidate will need a relevant degree level qualification and have a detailed knowledge and understanding of environmental sustainability issues including relevant legislation, policy and best practice in an urban setting. You will need to be confident dealing with external contacts, in particular representatives from developers working in the Borough.

The rate offered is up to £28 per hour (inside IR35) depending on experience and qualifications and this role will initially be offered as a 2 month contract but could be extended. For more information please get in touch.
