Development Management Team Leader (P00632)

Location: Appletree Court, Lyndhurst

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary:  Scale 9 – (43,317 – 48,377 per annum) + essential car user allowance £103.25 per month.

Starting salary will reflect level of previous experience and qualifications

We are looking for an appropriately qualified, experienced and highly motivated individual to play a key role in our Development Management Service. This post is important in achieving the Councils housing delivery targets and affordable housing which are key objectives of both the District Council and the Government. The successful candidate will have evidence of relevant experience and a proven track record of being able to deal with often complex major proposals in a professional, timely and efficient manner as well as experience of managing and mentoring more junior officers.  The successful Development Management team leader is an individual who can meet our objectives for delivering high quality development in this sensitive area, and delivering an customer focused Planning Service.

The post holder will lead one of our Development Management teams. They will manage and develop the Team creating a high-performance team committed to delivering quality development and a quality service to our customers. The post holder will also carry their own case load. 

The role will involve being proactive in the development of a customer focussed service in liaison with other Officers and contribute to the continuous improvement in the delivery of customer satisfaction ensuring all work is carried out to meet agreed expectations for customer service and defined performance indicators. A commitment to a high standard of customer care and an ability to analyse a range of considerations is a must.

They will need to be able to demonstrate appropriate qualifications and skills in these specific areas.
