I am currently working on an exciting position on behalf of a South West based Local Authority. They are currently seeking an Interim Team Leader Transport Planner. It is an initial 6 month contract, likely to go on longer than this. The role offers flexible remote working.

The suitable person will manage a Transport Development Team and provide technical expertise, where required, to the planning and economic development teams and other Council services as required. Main responsibilities include:

  • Managing a team of circa 10 Transport Development professionals. Lead, plan and organise the activities of the team, considering both short and long-term implications to ensure strategic direction is supported.
  • To provide appropriate strategic transportation advice and innovative solutions to the Planning Committee ensuring recommendations are to a high professional standard.
  • Manage the development, alignment and execution of high profile, large and complex projects
