Hackney Council is looking for a town planner to lead on our Community Infrastructure Levy and Section 106 work. As Senior CIL / Section 106 Officer you will help us implement and monitor systems for these levies / planning obligations. This is an important role to help us ensure that development properly enhances growth in Hackney and supports our community.

Day to day you will support the Planning Service with the monitoring, collection and distribution of CIL and monitoring of planning obligations. You will also provide advice to members of the public. To do this you need to fully understand the CIL Regulations.

You will be expected to report regularly on your work to senior management and Members. This stakeholder management work will extend to TfL, GLA, developers and other applicants. You will also be responsible for ensuring our historic data is in order and quality checking this work.

You will be a qualified town planner, ideally eligible for Royal Town Planning Institute membership, or a related degree holder with substantial work experience in the planning sector. You must have a good understanding of the legislation relating to CIL and S106 and you will also need experience of monitoring CIL and S106 agreements.

To thrive in this role you will need to be able to engage diverse audiences in a variety of communication formats with both internal and external stakeholders. It would be helpful if you had experience in project management. Ideally you will also have some experience of managing people as you will be supervising two members of the team.
