Medway Council has recently been successful with a £170m bid from the Housing Infrastructure Fund, which will be used to provide the required infrastructure (new roads, railway station and country parks) on the Hoo peninsula. That will then facilitate the expansion of some villages to provide new sustainable communities including new community facilities, healthy living centre, sports centre, playing fields, new schools, retail, new businesses and new homes all to serve the growing need in the area.  This is a really exciting time in Medway as we work towards producing our new Local Plan and bringing forward our transformation agenda including revitalising our amazing river frontage and town centres, building on our wonderful historical assets and benefiting from the universities that have located here.

We are therefore looking to recruit additional staff to help produce our Local Plan and /or be involved in the delivery of the new sustainable communities and transforming our river frontage to create a waterfront university city with vibrant town centres fit for the 21 Century.
