If you’re looking for real quality of life then take a close look at Wealden in East Sussex which covers the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the North down to the south coast, yet is within easy reach of London. We now have a vacancy in our Planning Policy team for a Planning Monitoring Officer to assist with providing technical information in relation to the monitoring of and production of Local Plans, Supplementary Planning Documents and other associated projects, including CIL, neighbourhood plans, infrastructure and economic development.

As Planning Monitoring Officer you will be responsible for analysing data and producing reports, including the Council’s Authority Monitoring Report (AMR) and monitoring the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) payments. You will play an important role in the forthcoming stages of the Local Plan process, through undertaking research on data to inform planning policy formulation and monitoring the effectiveness of planning policies. This will include liaising with colleagues, developers and planning agents to input into the Council’s housing trajectory and Five Year Housing Land Supply position.

This post requires a relevant degree/diploma together with relevant planning experience in either a Local Authority or Consultancy setting. You will enjoy data analysis and research and be able to devise methodologies, collate and analyse data to progress policy and development solutions.

In return we offer an excellent package, including competitive salary, career average salary pension scheme, an employee benefit scheme offering a range of discounts and salary sacrifice schemes, flexitime, some homeworking and discounted leisure centre membership.

Wealden District Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, and expects all employees and volunteers to share this commitment.
