Community Relations Manager

Carrington West are assisting their Private Sector Telecommunications client in their search for a Community Relations Executive to join their company on a full-time, permanent basis. The role can be based around one of their Primary Offices: Altrincham (Manchester), Daventry, Romsley (Birmingham) and Winchester (although that is soon to be Reading).
The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of strategies, best practice and expert community relations advice to ensure protection of the organisation's assets and delivery of projects for business growth. You will be an integral part of the Town Planning and Community Relations Team tasked to support a range of business requirements and customer programmes, with emphasis on the 5G rollout programme of site upgrades and redevelopment.
The successful candidate will report into the National Town Planning & Community Relations Manager, the work will focus upon community engagement required to address potential local concerns linked to amenity and health and safety issues. This role will involve working within a wider project team, along with external consultants and specialists and depending on workload and resources, opportunity also exists to support other projects and the wide workload of the Town Planning and Community Relations Team.
The position will involve travel and occasionally staying away from home. It will also require a flexible approach towards attending meetings outside normal office hours, for example, at Parish Councils.
 
Key Responsibilities
§Support the team in delivering the estates and property group strategic and operational objectives, delivering solutions on community relations matters to enhance shareholder value and support business growth.
§Provide input, advice and expertise and other technical resource to support property asset management activities and corporate and commercial projects.
§Work with other professional internal and external teams to deliver community relations solutions for maximum engagement and customer focus in line with performance measures and other business targets.
§Work with third party consultants to deliver solutions on community relations issues which impact the functional business area.
§Promote the team as a centre of excellence and support the development and implementation of policy, guidelines and relevant legislation.
§Support governance and process improvements, communication and stakeholder engagement including key internal and external interdependencies and participating in the reporting and resolution of issues and disputes.

§Direct report to the National Town Planning and Community Relations Manager
§E&I Acquisition team and CIP Project delivery teams
§Internally - key stakeholders within the operational business areas and Telecoms
§Externally
okey customers, such as the DCMS, the MNOs and the Mobile Operators Association as well as officials within the devolved administrations and individual planning authorities as may be required.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience
§Some public relations or similar experience
§A confident and articulate manner
§A sympathetic and empathetic approach
§The ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
§Good written and oral communication and presentation skills
§Knowledge and skills with standard IT software
§Good organisational and time keeping skills
 
Job Salary - £47,000-£52,000 per annum
