Principal Planning Officer

Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for a Principal Planner to join the Development Management team of a Local Authority in South Yorkshire.

You will take a lead role within the team managing major and complex minor planning applications and appeals and dealing with contentious development control issues, including undertaking negotiations with applicants/prospective developers and representatives of other Council departments. As a senior member of the team you will be expected to represent the Council by preparing and presenting expert and professional evidence at public inquiries, informal hearings and in court.

To carry out this role you will need to be a degree qualified town planner with experience working as a senior member of a local authorities development management team. Ideally you will have experience of working on applications of 100 units and over and have a comprehensive understanding of the current issues and developments affecting planning, regeneration and local government in the UK.

This role will require you to work remotely and it will initially be offered as a 3 month contract The rate offered will be £40/hr (inside R35). Please get in touch for more information.
