Regeneration and Economy Programme Manager

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in the South of England in the search for a Regeneration and Economy Programme Manager to join the Planning and Economy team on an initial 6 month contract.

Your responsibilities will include managing major area renewal and regeneration programmes. In addition, you will lead on the development and implementation of the economic development, inward investment and enterprise services of the Council.  You will take responsibility for the development of the Council's strategic Economic Development Strategy and will develop projects which secure the implementation and delivery of the economic growth agenda. Responsibilities will also include the following:

• Co-ordinate the development of a competitive economy for the council which meets the objective of supporting businesses to start up and grow
• Lead on implementing the Economic Development Strategy
• Ensure the councils economic development and inward investment offer is proactively promoted to targeted geographies, sectors and companies to ensure we become a key location for inward investment and enterprise
• Prepare reports for submission to and lead briefings on projects to governance boards, Cabinet, Scrutiny and Council meetings
• Identify external funding opportunities and prepare and co-ordinate funding bids required by any service areas across the directorate
• Bring high level influence to bear on the investment plans of partner organisations and private business to support the vision for investment and growth
• Support the Council's strategic partnerships in business, skills, transport, infrastructure

The ideal candidate would have previous experience in a similar role and be able to hit the ground running, the council are offering the role on a 'fully remote' basis with flexible working hours.
