Assistant Planner

Our client is a leading Planning and Development Consultancy operating in Wales but with links to projects across the UK. They provide a full range of planning services to clients which range from Health Care/Public Sector to Private Investors and Residential and Retail Developers.

Currently they are looking to bring in an Assistant Planner to help deliver their client’s projects nationwide. The responsibilities will include drafting and submitting planning applications, discharging planning conditions, varying planning conditions, contributing towards development reports and planning appraisals as well as helping draft evidence for appeals.

Some planning experience is important so ideally you will have gained up to 2 years experience in a local authority, planning consultancy or developer. Initially you will be working remotely but through technology you will constantly be connected to your colleagues through Microsoft Teams. Longer term there is an expectation that you will largely office based in Cardiff. There are a number of other new starters joining the firm at this level later in the year so you will have a virtual team of Assistant Planners in the business to share ideas with. You will be provided career development support by the Directors in the Cardiff office and you will hopefully progress through your APC very quickly.
