For this role: You will be mainly office based but will have an essential car users allowance to enable site visits around the district. You will be working within the Development Management team which comprises of planning officers, specialist heritage and design officers and planning support staff.
What you'll be doing: You will lead a team of planning officers and form an active part of the management team, dealing with your own case load of major applications, signing decisions, representing the council at appeals, as well as providing leadership, coaching and advice to your team
Who we're looking for: You will have excellent communication, customer service and negotiation skills and be well organised and able to work under pressure with a large workload, inspiring and motivating a team of professional officers.
To be successful in this role you will need a relevant degree in Town and Country Planning and be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute with broad experience in Development Management and team leadership.
A full driving licence is required for this role.
