Job Details

This is a full time post, providing maternity cover for the current post holder, assisting the Planning Enforcement Team Leader in the delivery of an effective and efficient planning enforcement service.

Key duties will include:

  • Proactive action to ensure compliance with conditions imposed on planning permissions and to monitor developments to ensure compliance with approvals and any formal notices served
  • Investigate allegations and enquiries of breaches of planning control
  • Process Appeals Manage and coordinate site visits
  • Deal with telephone enquiries from members of the public and elected Members
  • Draft witness statements

Successful candidates will have acquired practical experience in planning enforcement or/and development management within a Local Authority in the UK.

Furthermore, you will have developed a thorough knowledge of UK planning legislation, enforcement procedures and have excellent written and communication skills.

You should have a degree in planning or a related subject. Chartered membership of the RTPI is desirable. A driving licence valid to drive in the UK and use of your own vehicle during working hours is essential in order to carry out site visits across the district.
