Job Details

You will take a lead on infrastructure planning and funding through Dartford’s CIL and Section 106 developer contributions, and effective working with our delivery partners. Working for an ambitious authority located on the edge of London, no two days will be the same.  We have strong housing and commercial delivery taking place across the Borough, including at Ebbsfleet, and exciting proposals to transform Dartford town centre.

Dartford is looking for a multi-talented individual with understanding and experience of CIL or S106 regimes to join our team. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential. Familiarity with planning policy preparation, infrastructure planning, development viability, or supporting social and physical infrastructure delivery, would be desirable.

If you want to make a positive difference to your career, and the delivery of sustainable neighbourhoods, we would love to hear from you.

Benefits: Career average pension scheme, professional fee payment, flexible working including  some remote working, free on-site parking, employee benefits package and generous leave entitlement. The Council’s offices are in a highly accessible location, next to Dartford station with frequent services from Central London (Oyster Card coverage) and North Kent.  Road connections via the M25 and A2 are also excellent.

Closing date:  13 July 2020; Interviews:  23 July 2020.

Company

Located on the border of Kent, London and Essex, Dartford is one of the most exciting and dynamic regions in the country. It has enviable connections to Central London with the new Elizabeth Line just a 10 minute train ride from Dartford’s central station.

According to the most recent census data Dartford has experienced one of the fastest population growths in England in the previous 10 years and is a community that is rapidly diversifying too. The local economy is strong with Dartford being in the top 5% in terms of employment and in the top 20% for GVA per head, workplace earning and job density in the South East (source Caxtons Property Market Report 2022)

At the heart of the Borough’s vision, to make Dartford the place of quality and choice by focussing on community, sustainability and a prosperous economy, is a commitment to improving facilities and creating opportunities for existing residents.

Over recent years the Council has invested in a range of cultural and leisure facilities, not least the current programme of redesigning play spaces across the borough. The Council is also working with public and private sector partners to deliver a programme of streetscape and road improvements through Dartford Town Centre. All of this alongside being a council that consistently performs well in terms of service delivery for its residents.
