Job Details
One of my clients in London are looking for an Interim Director of Planning & Regeneration to join them for a contract of an initial 6 months, with the likely potential for extension. They are looking for someone to start ASAP and can offer an attractive day rate for the right candidate.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide appropriate professional advice to the Mayor, Cabinet, Members and the Corporate Management Team (CMT) in the discharge of the Council's statutory functions for all Planning, Building Control, Environmental Control, Land Charges, Lead Local Flood Authority and other related matters
- Responsibility for the professional, technical and administrative staff within the service
- Responsibility for all the Planning & Development service, management and oversight of all aspects of the budget, including driving income generation activities to meet annual income targets through fees and charges
- Set the overall strategic direction of the Council's planning and related services and take overall responsibility for the development of appropriate planning policies and strategies across the Council to achieve the Council's objectives and priorities
