Job Details
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Infrastructure Delivery Officer to join our busy and dynamic Planning department. As a Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) charging authority, you will be responsible for the management of how the Council allocates its CIL contributions to local and strategic infrastructure projects across the District, working with stakeholders to deliver projects and monitor their progress. You will work closely with the Council’s planning and legal team, elected members and town and parish councils.
This will be a hands-on role where your time will be split between Planning Policy and Development Management, considering the infrastructure requirements to meet the development pressures within the District. There is also scope to contribute to transport and infrastructure-related planning policy to support the emerging Local Plan.
Whilst only half an hour from central London by train, Sevenoaks District has diverse urban/rural issues. There are areas of affluence as well as pockets of deprivation within the District. Development pressures are the highest they’ve ever been and a key challenge for the District is to balance housing, economic and infrastructure needs with the protection of the Green Belt.
There is plenty going on for creative and driven individuals wishing to gain extensive Infrastructure and Planning experience in a busy, friendly and customer-focused environment. We put customer service at the heart of everything we do.
Uniquely the Council is financially self-sufficient and has earned Platinum Investors in People status in 2019.
For an informal discussion regarding this opportunity please contact Claire Pamberi on 01732 227000.
