Principal Planning Policy Officer

Carrington West are assisting their local authority client based in Hampshire in the search for a Principal Planning Officer to join their Planning Policy team on a long-term 18-month contract.

The successful candidate will be part of the Planning Strategy and Regeneration Team, and be expected to manage, co-ordinate and lead significant projects and masterplans on strategic sites within the borough. High-level of engagement with senior managers and local Members, as well as key partners and relevant external bodies will be required so it is important for you to have excellent communications skills and understanding of the planning policies.

The team is involved with:
Developing and implementing planning policies and strategies
Advising and supporting colleagues on planning and regeneration issues
Developing, enabling and delivering development and regeneration projects
Facilitating and promoting economic development
Facilitating and promoting transport, community, urban realm and environmental improvements.

The successful candidate must have experience developing planning policies, guidance and strategies and/or delivering development or regeneration projects. 

It would be beneficial to hold a Planning Degree or equivalent Planning qualification and full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute, or have considerable experience in a relevant planning role at a senior or supervisory level.

The council are looking for candidates who will be able to hit the ground running and are offering flexible working arrangements including working from home and compressed hours.

Carrington West Pay Rate - £45 per/hour (DOE)
