DPA (London) Ltd is a growing and vibrant architectural practice based in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Planning Consultant to join our town planning team, managing planning applications and appeals on behalf of our clients. This position has arisen as a result of expanding workload and new projects.

Career opportunities

This is an existing role that would suit someone who can take control of and improve the planning consultancy side of the business, with the opportunity to progress to the role of Associate  / Partner of the firm in the future.

Your main duties will include:

  • Preparing and submitting planning applications and chasing as required
  • Providing regular updates to partners, directors and the wider team
  • Maintaining and updating the planning tracker
  • Obtaining specialist quotations for services
  • Extensive consultation with external and internal stakeholders
  • Researching and visiting sites when required

Applicant: 

  • Highly motivated, target focused, initiative driven and able to prioritise your own workload
  • Strong IT and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to enable you to liaise closely with colleagues, clients, planning officers and external professionals in a timely and cost effective manner

Qualifications & Experience:  

  • You will ideally hold a RTPI accredited Town Planning degree and hold MRTPI status (or equivalent), with a determination to keep up to date with changes in the UK planning system
  • Demonstrable planning experience required, ideally in both the private and public sectors
  • You should have an extensive knowledge of all aspects of the planning process from inception to completion
  • Experience in preparing complex planning applications and have handled appeals to the Secretary of State
  • Able to offer planning guidance to our clients and the architects in the company
